Playing both cover material AND original material (60%-40%), SNACKBOX is an excellent choice for your venue, party, event, or festival!!

SNACKBOX is an energetic alternative to the type of music presently heard on popular radio. As an ongoing, collaborating, and evolving trio, SNACKBOX mixes original and standard material to create thier own diverse style and genre.

The band has a broad base of influences that produces a sound that many have deemed rock/jazz fusion. Blending together strong guitar sounds with dynamic bass playing and spirited, energetic drumming, Snackbox is fast becoming a fan favorite.

In simpler terms, Snackbox brings out sounds that may sound vaguely familiar but in a truly unique and original way. Snackbox performs a sound that generations both new and old will want to tune in their ears and (hopefully) their radios.

The Players:

  Pete McCauley - Guitar/Vocals/Harmonica

An experienced player, McCauley originally hails from Western Massachusetts. His musical history is extensive and impressive. It includes performing and recording with various pop, rock, and jazz ensembles as well as solo acoustic shows throughout the US and Europe. As a founding member and the original guitarist for Twin Cities power trio Eddie Mac, he spent a few years traveling the country, earning a record contract with SPV records in Germany, produced 2 full-length albums for independent record label Mud Hut Productions, and in 2001 won the WAMI award for best pop single.

  Matthew Abroe - Drums

Born in Chicago, Abroe spent an extended period of time in New Orleans, studying jazz, Latin beats, second-line, and New Orleans funk, while pursuing the awe-inspiring degree in Physics. A disciple of world-renowned jazz drummer Johnny Vidacovich, Abroe was a staple in the New Orleans music scene, performing with such well-known acts as All That, Afro-Skull, Koko Robeshow, and the New Orleans Klezmer All Stars. Upon completion of his degree Abroe moved back to the Midwest to pursue a doctorate in astrophysics at the University of Minnesota. While not constraining the fundamental constituents of the universe or developing software on the world's fastest supercomputers, Abroe performs in and around the Twin Cities music scene.

James Towns - Bass / Vocals

Originally from Chicago, Towns began his musical adventure in high school by playing the trumpet while studying the bass guitar. During college and graduate school, Towns participated in a number of band and studio projects. Currently he works as a family therapist and continues to work with many musicians. Most recent projects aside from Snackbox include Red Room, Terramara, and the Spectaculars.

Depending on the size and circumstances of your venue or event, Snackbox can also add keyboards, a horn section, additional percussionists, and even a second lead vocalist. Contact us today to see how we can accomodate you.
